June 7, 2009 - It’s a Brand New Day- My Destiny
Praise to God for a Living Hope
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:3-5 (New International Version)
A New Life
3-5What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you'll have it all—life healed and whole. (The Message)
What is your Destiny? A Future in Heaven
God rewards those who seek after him. Psalms 84:11Jeremiah 29:11 11 for I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Psalm 84:11 (New International Version) 11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
Psalm 84:11 (The Message) 10-12 One day spent in your house, this beautiful place of worship, beats thousands spent on Greek island beaches. I'd rather scrub floors in the house of my God than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin. All sunshine and sovereign is God, generous in gifts and glory. He doesn't scrimp with his traveling companions. It's smooth sailing all the way with God-of-the-Angel-Armies.
God is still on the throne. Sometimes we live like we don’t think he is still there, but he is. You have to believe that God can bring you though any thing that you are going through.
There are a lot of things around us trying to pull us down-but, don’t take hold of those things, and look to things above, the things of God- God’s word. We have to keep God’s word in our hearts, in our minds to not fall victim to Satan’s tricks or schemes.
I think it all starts with a grateful heart. We all have things to be grateful for. Sometimes we get so caught up with what is going on in our lives or in our parents lives or even our friend’s lives and we forget what God has done or is doing right now in our lives. Wake up each morning and thank God for everything you have. If you are going through some tough times right now, here are three things that you should be doing.
Find scriptures to memorize and meditate on daily that are specific to your tough time item. Healing, financial, salvation, addiction…..etc…
Forgive- un-forgiveness keeps us separated from God.
Matthew 6:15 (New International Version) But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Go visit people who are in a worse situation than you. If you can walk around, then go visit the shut INS. Sharing your time with those who need companionship will lift your own spirits as well. God will do a mighty blessing in your life as you bless others.
Please don’t get so caught up in what is going wrong in your life that you stop be grateful to God for all that is good in your life.
God is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow.
Hebrews 13:8 (New International Version)8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8 (Amplified Bible) 8Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).Do you believe that God did great things in the lives of Moses, David, Paul and many others? Well he can and will do the same for each one of us.Do you believe that you have seeds of greatness down inside of you? God has given each one of us talents. God threw away the mold when he made you. God’s fingerprints are all over your life- don’t try to be someone or something you aren’t.
3. God can do the extraordinary.Don’t go around saying “I wish I could sing like her, or I wish I looked like him.” God made you unique, you are the best you that is out there, no one else can be a better you. God created you with a purpose, it is up to you to find out what that purpose is and get out there and do it. No one else is going to do it for you, because God put it in you and not in them. God is not asking us to be extraordinary, God is asking us to be ordinary- he will carry out the extraordinary in us, if we let him.In ourselves we can do the natural- but in God we can do the Supernatural. When we do the natural part-God he will show up and do the Super part- the part that takes faith. Knowing that without his help we will fail. We must depend on God’s supernatural power to work in our lives.Do you ever wonder why the car that ran the red light didn’t hit you? That’s because God is working on your behalf, even when you don’t think he is.
I guess the first thing that we have to believe is- Did God create me to be different from those around me?
Psalm 139:13-14 (New International Version) 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13-14 (The Message) 13-16 Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb. I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day.
The story of the little boy that was about 6 years old. He loved to play the piano, but he could only play chopsticks. His father took him to a symphony one night and they had back stage passes. The little boy saw the Grand Piano setting on the stage and walked over to it and sat down. His father had thought that he went out to his seat in the audience, but he was playing his chopsticks on the Grand Piano when the curtain was raised. The entire audience had come to see a great pianist, but saw this little boy playing chopsticks instead. Just when the little boy saw what was going on, he started to get up, but he felt two hands on his shoulders and then the arms came around him and the two hands were beside the little boy’s hands on the piano keys. The man whispered in the little boy’s ear-“just keep playing”, the master pianist starting playing a piece from the symphony and at just the right time he brought in the wood winds, and then the brass and so on. The audience was stunned that the sound was so spectacular. The song that was being played was in the same key as the little boy’s chopstick tune. But, when the master came and enter into the little boy’s ordinary song, the song became extraordinary. When we allow God to work in our lives- we can fulfill the destiny that God has already laid out for us and our ordinary will become extraordinary. Our natural will become Super-Natural.
We should all make this our prayer:
Lord, don’t let me leave this earth until I have completed all of my God given task, fulfilled all of my God given purposes and performed all of my God given talents.
