Family Matters Series “Got Stress?”
Today's Text: II Corinthians 1-8-10

I. Stress-What is it?
Some event so stressful caused Paul to share his heavy burden with the Corinthians.
Whether it was the dangerous riot that had occurred in Ephesus (Acts 19:23-41), or some grave sickness, or some disturbing news from Corinth we don’t know. Yet, he openly shared his humanness with them.
What do you think his purpose was in doing so?
Why does God sometimes allow us to reach an extreme state of mental duress like Paul?
What is the great promise found in II Corinthians 1:10?

II. Stress-What causes it?
III. Stress-What do you do about it?
Each one of us deals with one or more of these types of stress.
Setting Unrealistic Goals.
Time Constraints.Relational Conflicts.
Employment Concerns.
Everyday Hassles.
Shortage of Finances.
Discuss which of these you think are the most serious.
Share different ways you can handle each of these.
What works for you?
Can too much involvement in ministry or church work create an unhealthy stressful situation?
What was the most significant thing you received from this sermon that will better enable you to deal with stress?
