Today’s scripture is I Peter 4:10 "The Persuit"
God gives us all assignments.“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others...” I Peter 4:10 )
Why do you think this is such an important aspect of Christianity? Ephesians 2:10
Many Christians have no problem serving God.
Why do you it’s so difficult to serve others?
What should our example be? Matthew 20:28.
I. Real Ministry is Being Available.
What does ministry consist of? Romans 12:7-8.
Discuss how each attribute in verse eight can be applied as a ministry.
Do you think ministry is only limited to the attributes in this scripture? I Corinthians 12:5
Give examples of other types of ministry. Matthew 25:35-36.
What assurance do we have that we have a gift or ministry? I Corinthians 7:7
Barriers to Servanthood.
Ist. Barrier: Self-Centeredness.
Why do you see this as a barrier to effective ministry? Philippians 2:4.
Almost every miracle Jesus did was on the occasion of an interruption.
What do you think happens to our ministry if we wait for a convenient time? Proverbs 3:28
2nd. Barrier: Perfectionism.
Why do you think this is a barrier to effective ministry? Ecclesiastes 11:4 (Living)
Do you think that God expects perfection in our ministry efforts?
3rd. Barrier: Comparing & Criticizing.
Are you sometimes reluctant to minister for fear of being criticized or compared to another’s standard? Romans 14:4.
II. Real Ministry is About Being Faithful.
When do you think the Christian retires from ministry?
Are small or menial acts of ministry really important to God? I Corinthians 15:58
God will reward faithfulness in all things. Hebrews 6:10 Matthew 25:21.
