Today’s Scripture is Matthew 22:37 -39 “Relationships Happen”
“Ready or Not, Here They Come”
1st You were designed for three fulfilling relationships.
Genesis 1:26-27
Genesis 2:20-23
From the beginning of time man has longed for relationships.
God designed us with the make up to have three fulfilling relationships.
Why do you think God created man in his own image?
Is there a relationship between God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit?
What kind of relationship did God want with his creation?
#1 We have a relationship with God.
#2 We have relationships with others.
#3 We have a relationship with ourselves.
2nd You were designed with the ability to choose!
Joshua 24:15
You choose each day whether you will develop fulfilling or dissatisfying relationships.
Galatians 6:4-7
Why did God give us free will to make choices?
What choice did Adam and Eve make? Responsibility or blame?
What does it mean “a man reaps what he sows”?
The greatest choice of all is what you think about after something happens to you.
It’s not what happens to you that determine your emotions; it’s what you think about after things happen to you that determine all of your emotions. (Anger, fear, sadness, joy, peace, loneliness, frustration, discouragement)
How do you see yourself? Are you confident? Are you out- going?
Do you allow others to dictate what your responses will be?
Do you allow God's ever presence being inside you dictate how you respond?
Philippians 4:8-9
3rd You were designed with the capacity to control your own thoughts and emotions!
2 Corinthians 10:5
You are designed to take responsibility for yourself.
You cannot change the other person or some circumstances, but you can take responsibility for your own thoughts after something happens to you.
Proverbs 23:7
James 1:19
Philippians 4:8-9
How can our thoughts take us in the wrong direction?
How about your children? Do you bless them or curse them with your words?
How does thinking about noble things bring the peace of God?
Life is about relationships.
The only person you can change in a relationship is you.
The only choice you have is whether you will work to make the relationship great or cause those around you great pain.
The choice is yours.
Choose wisely!
CHOOSE LIFE!
