Today’s Scripture is Acts 2:38-42
I. OUR MISSION
- Today we stand at the gate of possibilities! We begin a new chapter in our church!
- Today we have the chance to insure a future for our children and our grandchildren!
John 17:18
The world is the only place that you can serve your mission!
- Today we look at the COMMON MISSION of us all!
- Moving into the Edwards Cinema!
John 20:21
What are we being sent to do? Where are we being sent? What is our Mission?
Acts 20:24
The main Mission of Life for me is: SHARE THE GOOD NEWS!
A. “Evangelism” is just the Greek word for “Good News!”
B. Jesus didn’t say: “I want you to become My Prosecutor
- Jesus said: “I want you to become My WITNESS!”
- Have you seen those who try to “witness” like an attorney
C. God wants to get the message of YOUR LIFE CHANGING experience:
- To—Jerusalem—your closest friends and neighbors
- To Judea/Samaria—the people different from you background.
To—“The ends of the earth!”

1. What kinds of people have you witnessed to?
2. Are you afraid to witness to “different” people?
II. COMPLETING OUR MISSION
1ST I must Share! I MUST SHARE WITH THOSE IN MY WORLD!
- Jesus knew His purpose for being here on planet earth—He said at 12 years of age: “I must be about My Father’s business.” Luke 2:49
- 21 years later—Jesus said: “It is finished!” John 19:30
Are you completing the MISSION, or PURPOSE God has placed you here on earth for?
Acts 1:8
Jesus is saying: “First start where you are—at home!” Jerusalem!
- The starting point is MY WORLD! “Jerusalem!” “Santa Maria!”
- In Luke 8 Jesus healed the man and he was so excited that he wanted to travel with Jesus but Jesus told him to go back home and tell them!
Luke 8:39
- That’s the starting point—your own home!
- Start in your own community!
- Start in your own area of influence!
1st Peter 3:15
- God wants you to share the “Good News!” At all times and at anytime!
- Your Life Mission is to continue what Jesus started while he was on earth!
2nd Peter 3:9 says
a. The truth is—God doesn’t want any one to be lost!
b. God cares about PEOPLE—THAT’S WHY HE MADE DO MANY!

III. COMPLETING MY MISSION
1ST I must Share! I MUST SHARE WITH THOSE IN MY WORLD!
2nd I must Dare! I MUST DARE TO REACH BEYOND MY WORLD!
James 1:27
Reaching to “different” people! People with Aids! People just out of prison!
1st Corinthians 9:22 says:
- That means that we just don’t hang with the people who are like us!
- One day we will stand before God and give an audit of our life!
- Jesus is going to judge if we really learned to love or if it was just all talk!
Matthew 25:35-36
- People are going to say: “When did we do that for you, Lord?”
- Jesus said: “When you have done it unto ONE of the LEAST of them, you’ve done it unto ME!”
- Jesus said: “WHEN YOU GIVE JUST A CUP OF WATER IN MY NAME—YOU HAVE GIVEN IT UNTO ME!”
Acts 2:38-41 They grew from 12 followers to 3,000 in three years!
1ST I must Share! I MUST SHARE WITH THOSE IN MY WORLD!
2nd I must Dare! I MUST DARE TO REACH BEYOND MY WORLD!
3rd I must Care! I MUST CARE ABOUT THE WHOLE WORLD!
Mark 16:15
Jesus is speaking to all of those who follow Him!
A. IS ANYONE GOING TO BE IN HEAVEN BECAUSE OF YOU?
In the next year in America, 2.4 million souls will die and most of them will go into eternity without Jesus Christ!
B. To your MISSION—you can have one of four responses:
- Like Moses: “Who me?”
- Like Jonah: “Not me!”
- Like Habakkuk: “Why me?”
- Or like Isaiah: “Send me!”
